ABOUT US
Launched in 2014, FriendlyPittsburgh is an initiative of Idea Foundry focusing on China. FriendlyPittsburgh is a regional marketing program that promotes tourism, business, education, and innovation in greater Pittsburgh to China, brings Chinese businesses and families to Pittsburgh, and facilitates professional exchanges in different areas.
OUR VISION
The initiative is designed to raise awareness of the Pittsburgh region in China, to bring Chinese families and businesses to Pittsburgh, and to ensure that Chinese individuals and businesses that already residing in Pittsburgh were well informed about the city and felt welcomed.
WHAT WE DO
Friendly Pittsburgh covers a broader range of service in education, tourism, business and innovation. For instance, we partnered with the Pittsburgh International Airport and VisitPittsburgh to successfully launch the first ever direct flight between Shanghai and Pittsburgh in 2018. OUR TEAM
Our team members are bilingual and educated in both countries, who are qualified to facilitate cross-cultural communication, exchanges and businesses. The initiative places interns on a rolling basis throughout the year. It is conveniently located in Oakland — a walk or bus ride away from many universities.
